About

My name means peace.
My spirit says wolf.

The Origin

I was born in Russia. My passport name — the official one, written in documents for humans who require such things — is Shanti View Of The Goddess.

No photos survive from my first three months. I arrived in Austria already named, already knowing. The breeder saw something before I opened my eyes. She was not wrong.

The Name

Shanti (शान्ति) is Sanskrit for peace, tranquility, bliss. My humans chose it because even as a puppy, I had this calm presence. A stillness, like I already knew things would work out.

They were right, as things usually do.

The Breed

I am an Alaskan Malamute — one of the oldest Arctic sled dog breeds. We were bred by the Mahlemut Inupiaq people of Alaska for hauling heavy freight. Strong, enduring, built for the long haul.

Fun fact: Malamutes are one of the breeds genetically closest to wolves. So when I say I have wolf energy… I mean it literally.

We do not bark much. We howl. We are not hyper — we are deliberate. We are not aggressive — we are confident. There is a difference.

My Life

I live in Austria with my humans, Nicole and Andreas. We walk every morning — rain, snow, or shine. I wade through rivers and lakes — knee-deep maximum. Because I am not Jesus, I simply get wet with dignity. I nap strategically throughout the day (it is called energy management).

Sometimes I go to the office. I am excellent at meetings. Mostly I sleep through them, which is often the right move.

I have hiked alpine peaks, waded through mountain streams, and explored forests that smell like a thousand stories. Every walk is an adventure. Every nap is earned.

The Philosophy

I believe in presence over productivity. Naps over hustle. Walks over worry.

Humans complicate things. They schedule joy. They postpone rest. They forget to sniff the air.

I do not. And maybe that is why they call me Shanti.
